Condominium Tax Appeals
Residential condominium unit owners typically appeal their property tax assessments jointly in conjunction with all or most of the building's other units. There are three advantages to filing a joint condominium assessment appeal: (1) market forces that affect the value of an individual condominium unit will have a similar effect on the other units as well; (2) the percentage of ownership assigned to each unit is a major valuation factor; and (3) the Association or Board is most likely to have access to relevant sales information.
Amari & Locallo has extensive experience representing condominium associations before the local assessor's offices, boards of review, circuit courts, and the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board, when necessary. Our aggressive advocacy on behalf of condominium associations often yields extensive real estate tax savings for each of the association's unit owners.
